The Ministry of Information and Broadcasting (MIB) on January 30, 2025, issued the advisory to carry the mandatory channels appropriately in respective genre on their cable TV network.
The following has been stated namely: -
• The list of mandatory channels has been modified
• Channels under following Genres have been modified: -
o General Entertainment (Regional)
o News and Current Affairs (Lok Sabha)
o General Entertainment (Hindi)
o News and Current Affairs (Hindi)
o News and Current Affairs (English)
o Sports
• All cable operators are directed to carry the mandatory channels appropriately in respective genre on their cable TV network
